Global Brightens Up Mornings with Canada’s #1 Late Morning Show

In an exciting turn of events, Global has announced that The Morning Show has surpassed the ratings of other networks and productions making it the #1 late morning talk program in Canada.

The program is now the highest-rated late-morning Canadian TV show in Canada, beating out all national competitors. This is big news for the production, even surpassing crowd favourites such as The Marilyn Denis Show, Breakfast Television and Cityline. Reaching this significant milestone is attributed to attracting the important 25–54-year-old audience and the annual audience growth rate, now with more than 1.2 million weekly viewers.

The Morning Show (TMS) launched in 2011, initially exclusive to the Toronto market. In 2013 a 30-minute national edition was added, with a one-hour national program launched in 2019. TMS reaches 1.2 million viewers each week and had an AMA of 152,300 in fall 2021, up from 146,900 AMA in fall 2020. According to Numeris data, the production is currently overtaking the competitors in A25-54 and 2+.

“The evolution of The Morning Show balances the topics Canadians are talking about on any given day with the best in lifestyle content,” said TMS Executive Producer Jordan Schwartz. “Being a part of Corus allows TMS to explore innovative lifestyle integration concepts with advertisers.”

Highlighting smart and savvy conversations on culture, life and entertainment, The Morning Show features news, celebrity guests, and lifestyle contributors for fun informative segments about trending topics that resonate with viewers from coast-to-coast-coast. With the significant growth in audience numbers, new advertisers have been keen to take advantage of the show's success - including Canadian Tire, Lowes, VISA, Sobeys, Joe Fresh, Desjardins, Roc Skin Care, Sleep Country, Behr Paint and Air Miles.

TMS is currently investigating custom set opportunities having previously worked with Lowe's and Canadian Tire. Global is also looking to highlight destinations now that travel is easing back to more precedented volumes.
