The “Why” Behind SocialPacific, Vancouver’s Next Big Marketing Event

As someone who has attended and spoken at various marketing conferences over the years, I can attest to the immense value they provide to professionals in the industry. From networking opportunities to insights on the latest trends and strategies, conferences have become a cornerstone of professional development for marketers across the world.

Which is why I created SocialNext, a series of conferences across Canada aimed at tech-savvy marketers, who are the true engine behind their company’s growth and success.

Our events started from humble beginnings. I wanted to teach small businesses how to do social media marketing. This was when it was new and exciting…and yes, confusing. Some might say it still is.

But I noticed that there was a hole in the world of people who wanted to do professional development, but didn’t have the same professional development budget as their bosses.

Soon SocialWest grew from workshops to the largest digital marketing conference in Canada. Welcome more than 800 marketers to Calgary, Alberta.

In 2023, we are continuing to grow, with our first event in Vancouver just around the corner.

SocialPacific is aimed at bringing together marketing professionals from various industries and provide them with the opportunity to learn from each other and the experts in the field. I wanted to create a space where marketers could share their experiences, discuss challenges and opportunities, and collaborate on new ideas that could drive their businesses forward.

BUT WHY VANCOUVER? DANGER BAY.

Yes, this is all so I can increase the likelihood of meeting the cast of Danger Bay. And well, it’s Vancouver. It has long been celebrated as a hub for technology and innovation, Vancouver is a natural fit for a digital marketing conference. With a thriving startup scene, and a diverse population, the city offers a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing marketers today.

One of the key features that sets SocialPacific apart from other marketing conferences is its focus on practical, actionable insights. Despite the low cost of tickets, we pay each of our speakers, which ensures that the sessions are packed with everything you need to walk away from the conference with a toolkit of practical strategies that they can implement right away.
