Roku Canada enters OneView partnership with Matterkind

As Roku Canada continues to expand into the Canadian TV advertising industry, the company has further extended its partnership with Matterkind into 2023.

The extended commitment means more opportunities to optimize omnichannel campaigns, and as a result - reach more screens and eyes in a targeted approach.

“More and more Canadians are turning to ad-supported streaming services such as The Roku Channel for their content,” says Christina Summers, Country Manager at Roku Canada. “With this, there’s a great opportunity for marketers to zero in on their target audience and better reach more TV streamers across the country, and the ROI benefits that Matterkind has seen on the platform, is evidence of how powerful this tool is.”

Matterkind’s audience-first philosophy works together with OneView for more efficient, targeted marketing campaigns that generate useful data.

Waze announces new CMO

Waze, a leading crowd-sourced navigation app, today announced the appointment of its new Chief Marketing Officer.

Harris Beber joins Waze as Chief Officer (CMO) to lead global marketing, partnerships, and communications. Harris has more than 20 years of experience building and scaling mission-driven consumer and technology brands and is passionate about using storytelling to drive emotion. Harris joins Waze most recently from Vimeo, where he helped scale Vimeo’s community of 260M+ video professionals, businesses, and brands and helped take the company public in 2021. While at Vimeo,

Harris grew the marketing organization from 30 people to more than 100 people and helped increase total company revenue by 400 percent. Forbes named him one of the 50 Most Innovative Marketers Transforming Business in a Changed World. Harris previously served as CMO at The Nature’s Bounty Company and held various senior marketing positions at Amazon, Shutterfly and 1-800-Flowers.com. In 2010, he successfully sold his retail eCommerce business, Giftback, which pioneered pairing charitable giving with everyday purchases. He holds a B.A. and MBA from Binghamton University and will be operating out of the New York office.

TELUS launches Canada’s first streaming bundle

TELUS has introduced Stream+, the first and only premium streaming bundle in Canada. Stream+ combines Netflix Premium plan, Apple TV+, and discovery+ on one single bill for $25 per month. With Stream+, customers can enjoy their favourite shows and movies from the comfort of their home or while on the go, powered by TELUS’ award-winning wireless network with the best video experience in the country.

Streaming has won over many viewers looking for choice and value. A recent Angus Reid survey commissioned by TELUS found that close to half of Canadians use three or more streaming platforms and that 90 percent of Canadians would bundle streaming services together to save money if they could.
