GoDaddy highlights the importance of Canadian Can-Do spirit

Following two years of unpredictable restrictions, high inflation, and interest rates, optimism remains strong among small business owners who use digital tools and maintain an online presence, according to a new study conducted by Logit Group on behalf of GoDaddy Canada.

Business growth fueled by expanding products and services as well as adopting more digital tools is the leading reason for optimism among all survey respondents, but is most prominent among the small business segment, with 42 percent of those who employ five to nine people reporting confidence in the future of their business.

GoDaddy’s Campaign

In a celebration of Canadian optimism and drive, GoDaddy recently launched a campaign focused on the “Can-Do” spirit of Canadian small business owners. Small business owners are known for their can-do-ness but sometimes, they need a little help to get their can-do done. That’s where GoDaddy comes in. With a new series of ads telling unique but relatable stories, GoDaddy’s newest campaign highlights how different Canadian entrepreneurs, from landscapers to vintage online retailers and doggy spas, can benefit from GoDaddy products with support every step of the way.

The goal of the new campaign is to bring awareness to GoDaddy’s fulsome and easy-to-use offering, while celebrating small business owners’ resilience and can-do spirit. The creative hones in on GoDaddy’s playful brand persona and is modular to allow for use across different channels. In continued times of uncertainty, mirroring the optimism of small business owners is important and this has been a central part of our approach over the past two years, with positive feedback from our users and audience.

As a brand, we have learned that realistic portrayals of small business owners allow entrepreneurs to see themselves in the creative. This is a tactic GoDaddy has explored heavily throughout the pandemic by including real small business owners in campaign creative. Although the latest ad does not feature people, it shows the speed at which small business owners move - while celebrating Canadian creativity with niche business ideas to showcase how entrepreneurs can benefit from online solutions with GoDaddy.

Indeed, small business owners have been benefiting from online solutions like GoDaddy’s over the pandemic. Our recent survey also revealed more than two-thirds of small businesses made changes to their online presence during the pandemic, and more than 40 percent credit the growth of their business during the pandemic to new eCommerce solutions. We are inspired by the Canadian small business journey and excited to continue supporting the Canadian can-do spirit.
